BAND BIOGRAPHY

Sever The Means is a New York City based band that was formed in 2005 by Benedict and Rene who met each other in High School. After several years of playing in New York City, Sever The Means established their music as lyric-heavy and intense, influenced by Hard Rock, Alternative, Punk and Trip-Hop music while still managing a sound that is distinctly their own.
Jen joined the band in February 2009 as their new drummer. Angelica would later join in June 2009 to complete the band as their new lead vocalist.

Instrument: Lead Vocals
Musical Influences: Cocteau Twins, Portishead, Fiona Apple, The Pretenders, Smashing Pumpkins, etc.
What inspired you to become involved in music: Music has been a part of my life since I was a small child--whether it was piano lessons, singing in school choir, or my first attempts at songwriting. Where I am today is just the result of a natural evolution of things.




Name:Benedict
Instrument: Bass. Ibanez SRX390
Musical Influences: Guns N Roses, A Perfect Circle, Sparta, the Dawn, the Cure, the Clash, the Bouncing Souls, David Bowie, Rage Against the Machine, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Garbage, Living Colour and etc.
What inspired you to become involved in music: A garden gnome inspired me to become involved in music.




Name: Jen or The Bean.
Instrument: Drums. 6 pc Tama Imperialstar set, 13" Tama Artwood snare, Sabian Paragon (Neil Peart) High Hats, Sabian AA Crashes and a Sabian Signature 21" Jack DeJohnette Ride.
Musical Influences: Anything Classic Rock or 90's alternative; Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Genesis, STP, System of a Down, Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters... you name -- it I listen to it.
What inspired you to become involved in music: My father (R.I.P.). He was an amazing singer. He inspired me to take piano lessons when I was 9 years old. It's been downhill ever since.

What inspired you to become involved in music: My friend went in to play drums and I came along. Then I was the one going. When in rome , ya know?
